I have 9 years of counselling experience and more recently at the Everyman Project in North London, providing a counselling and anger management service for domestic violence and abuse on a one-2-one basis. I have also volunteered for Mind helping them to establish their counselling and mental health service in the borough of Wandsworth, providing low-cost, time-unlimited counselling for individuals suffering with Depression and Anxiety amongst other issues.
During university work placements I had the opportunity to provide counselling and develop my experience at a centre for alcohol and drug rehabilitation, and at the Equilibrium Centre in Wandsworth providing time unlimited low-cost counselling for people suffering with anxiety and depression using a client-centred cognitive behavioural approach and group work.
I also work alongside people who have eating disorders, mainly those with obesity and through counselling and coaching helping clients with their self-image and relationship to food and the psychological issues underpinning these.
